π± FujiStyle App: iOS Connection & Recipe Application Guide
Welcome to FujiStyle App!
This guide will walk you through connecting your Fujifilm camera to your iOS device (iPhone/iPad) via USB. This enables you to apply film simulation recipes directly to your camera with one tap, streamlining your creative workflow.
π οΈ 1. Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
- App: FujiStyle App installed on your iPhone or iPad (latest version)
- Fujifilm Camera: A supported Fujifilm camera model (see list below)
- Correct Cable:
- USB-C iOS devices (e.g., iPhone 15 series): Use a high-quality USB-C to USB-C data cable. Strongly recommended to use the official Fujifilm cable that came with your camera
- Lightning iOS devices: You must use the official Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter or Apple Lightning to USB-C Adapter. Connect this to a high-quality USB-A to USB-C data cable
- Camera Battery: Ensure your camera has sufficient battery to prevent disconnection
π 2. Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Set Camera Connection Mode (Critical Step)
This is the most critical step for successful connection.
- Power on your Fujifilm camera
- Press the MENU/OK button to enter the main menu
- Navigate to Setup Menu (wrench icon π§) > Connection Setting > Connection Mode
- Select one of the following two modes:
- USB TETHER SHOOTING FIXED (Recommended)
- USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE
Step 2: Connect Devices
With the camera powered on, connect it to your iOS device using the appropriate cable/adapter setup.
Step 3: Open App, Authorize, and Apply
This step combines authorization and recipe application:
- Open the FujiStyle App. The app's main screen should now recognize and display your connected camera model
- Select your desired recipe and enter its detail page. Tap the "Apply to Camera" button
- Authorize Connection: The first time you do this, iOS will display a permission dialog
- Permission Prompt: The dialog will ask: "Allow this accessory to communicate?" (or similar wording)
- You must tap "Allow". This is crucial for granting the app access to your camera
- Application Complete: After authorization, the recipe will automatically be written to your selected custom setting slot on the camera
Step 4: Verify Recipe on Camera
Check on your camera that the custom setting (e.g., C1) now matches the recipe parameters.
Ensure the camera's main mode dial is set to a creative mode like M (Manual), A (Aperture Priority), S (Shutter Priority), or P (Program Auto). Recipes won't take effect in AUTO or SP (Scene) modes.
